One lucky resident struck gold while out metal detecting, finding a lost six-pack of Emu Export dating back to 1989.
Local Mark Smith, who’s been metal detecting for nearly 20 years, said he found the cans dubbed ‘god’s nectar’ yesterday. It was found buried under sand near Carnarvon’s One Mile Jetty whilst out scanning the beach.
“I was just metal detecting and looking for pennies when I saw one of the cans partially exposed in the sand. It wasn’t opened so I picked it up and saw it was a lost six-pack, ” Mr Smith said.
